"Are You Afraid" is a song by Type O Negative, included on their second album The Origin of the Feces, released in 1992. Unlike the adjacent tracks, which are altered versions of songs on their previous album Slow, Deep and Hard, this one is the original version. It starts out slow then becomes fast. The musical sounds resembles that of U2. The song is about love afflictions that causes drunken Steele to commit suicide by cutting veins in his wrists.
Lyrics[]
Are you afraid, afraid to die?
Don't be afraid, afraid to try
Are you afraid to die
Don't be afraid of suicide
Just take that razor blade
And cut your wrist down to the bone
And die laughing
Are you afraid, afraid to die?
Don't be afraid, afraid to try... try... try... try
Suicide
Suicide
Suicide
Suicide
One, two, three, four
I don't want to live no more
