"It's Never Enough" is a song by Type O Negative, included on their compilation album The Least Worst Of, released in 2000. This song was recorded during the time when World Coming Down was recorded but the song wasn't included on the album because there wasn't enough space on the CD. This song details about how defending against the god wouldn't be enough to soothe her fears.
The sample of a buzz-saw was the first to hear that begins this song and another right before the 50-second outro which has soothing calming piano performed by Josh Silver.
"It's Never Enough" is split into four cantos, with two title cantos as the latter reprises. The fourth canto is aforementioned piano titled "She's Gone", playing in the way that traditionally signifies the moment when a loved one dies.
Lyrics[]
[Canto I. "It's Never Enough"]
Fuck you god
Fuck you god
Fuck you god
With my blood, time, sweat and tears
My goal is to dissolve her fears
Fuck you god
Self-imposed imprisonment
In this way feels she must repent - must repent
In a cell denial made
Break the lock, free her from her cage
Fuck you god
Realizing her days be few
Just want to make her comfortable - comfortable
No matter what I do
No matter what I do
It's never enough
No matter what I do
No matter what I do
It's never enough
Don't take her
[Canto II. "Cruel"]
I'll lose my mind
When it's her time
She's so scared, it's unbearable
Can't believe god could be so cruel
So cruel
She held me tight
Childhood fright
I'm so scared, there's no remedy
But so glad for the memories
So glad
Fuck you god
Fuck you god
Fuck you god
Fuck you god
[Canto III. "It's Never Enough" (reprise)]
For her one day undestroyed
I'd give my soul or life with joy
Fuck you god
Angel face of saintly love
I curse Christ that she suffers such - suffers such
No matter what I do
No matter what I do
It's never enough
No matter what I do
No matter what I do
It's never enough
No matter what I do
No matter what I do
It's never enough - never enough - never enough - never enough
[Canto IV: She's Gone. "{{{2}}}"]
[Instrumental]
